Developed in Japan many years before the US drifting craze, Sustec Pro DD was being actively developed with input from D1 Pro drivers after the success of the circuit developed Sustec Pro RR. Sustec Pro DD is the one true ORIGINAL DRIFT SPEC adjustable suspension kit. "Drift Spec" lies in the ultra heavy duty construction and valving of this kit, so that it can endure the extended abuse and extreme handling loads demanded in drifting.
The full range of height adjustments, dampening, and higher spring rates are excellent features of the Sustec Pro DD, but what makes the DD Drift Specific is that it is built for extreme durability.
The internal valving, piston diameter, and mounting bracketry have all been reinforced for extreme useage. The DD's that are currently used on Signal Auto's Twin 180SX, and 350Z, as well as US Pro Driver Chris Forsberg's 350Z have endured multiple drifting seasons and series using the same off the shelf kit, without requiring a single overhaul.

At Tanabe, a strong belief exists in producing the highest quality, purpose built products available. We also strongly believe in educating and expanding the knowledge of all types of drivers, from beginners to experts.
For drifting, the biggest upgrade to the car is the driver, and experience will go a long way in properly utilizing a suspension for what it is built for. In general, any adjustable coilover suspension (including 'drift' suspension) all have settings and spring rates that are found in, and are ideal for grip. For drifting, it is the driver and their personally developed settings and style that can make a vehicle drift.
Sustec Pro DD
is the one true "DRIFT SPEC" suspension in that all of its unique components were carefully engineered for the unique demands of drifting, using data gathered and tested over several years from professional drivers. The extreme durability and ruggedness of this suspension have earned this title. For more information on drifting, and vehicle setup, please click here.

A higher spring rate for motorsports application. Excellent handling, and most importantly, controllable traction is immediately noticeable through the use of the race developed spring. PRO210 was developed for extreme durability and balance. This spring has the highest tensile strength available due to our unique manufacturing process. For professional suspension tuners, custom rates and sizes are available.

Both case length, and preload are adjustable. Preload can be adjusted for special settings, while full suspension stroke can be retained or altered with the case length settings. An extreme range of height settings are available with this suspension to suit any driver's needs or preferences for height and weight distribution. Dampening may be changed in 4 or 8 settings across a wide range of actual dampening force.

The front suspension of a drift vehicle experiences the most abuse, therefore a special dual plate stamped steel bracket is used. This bracket is extremely rugged and resists damage where most suspensions fall short. The rear suspension features a high tensile CNC forged aluminum knuckle that is both lightweight and rigid.

The oversized Shock Piston is fully reinforced to resist flexing or snapping. The internal valving of the DD is also fully reinforced for the increased and rapidly changing loads experienced during drifting. The internals resist oil and gas 'foaming' and overheating of the internal components which can detract from performance when driving under extreme conditions for extended amounts of time.

A helper spring is used on the rear of the DD, where it is most important. Rear suspension stability is extremely important in drifting, so rear traction may be controlled.

Constructed of forged aluminum, longetivity and superior strength is ensured. Additionally, the threaded portion of the casing is chemically treated to resist rust and corrosion.

Solid mounting pillowball uppermounts are included on the front and rear of the Sustec Pro DD. These uppermounts also have the added benefit of having front adjustable camber plates for fixing or modifying camber settings beyond factory limitations. Solid pillowball upper mounts prevent suspension geometry changes under various suspension loads.
